avere (in the future) + past participle

    Avrò comprato una macchina.

essere (in the future) + past participle

When to use the future perfect?

The futuro anteriore  is used similarly as the future perfect in English (I will have finished)

  • it indicates a future action (or state) completed before another future action (or state)

examples:

Avremo vissuto 10 anni in Italia nel 2024.

In 2024 we will have lived 10 years in Italy.

Quando sarò arrivato, ti telefonerò.

When I have arrived, I will call you.*

 

 

 

 

 

*after time cojunctions (quando, dopo che, appena, etc.) future tense is used in Italian

 

 

  • special use: it expresses uncertainty in the past

examples:

Sarà stato ferito.

He was probably injured.

Avranno perso il treno.
